I didn’t get to celebrate GIS day this year between the internship and classes. On November 18th I did spend time talking with some of the interns about GIS and brainstorming ideas of how to use the tools for our intern projects. I learned about QGIS through a non-GIS intern so that was pretty neat. It was her first time using it and she walked me through some of the process for her erosion project. I also talked with another intern in this class about storm mapping data. I wouldn’t say it was fun because the projects were stressful, but we got to talk about real world data and how to visualize that with GIS and that felt meaningful.
