This week we used ArcGIS online and the Field Maps app to collect public safety data features. I chose park benches on the Blackwater Heritage State Trail in Milton, Florida. Benches might not seem like a safety feature at first, but they serve a background purpose. They encourage trail users to take necessary, provide landmarks. These are both very important on long journeys like this 8 mile state trail. After setting up the map in ArcGIS Pro we were able to define the layout in ArcGIS online and export this map to the Field Maps app to be used. From there I was able to easily collect the data features on the app and find them back online. This new data was then able to be transferred to ArcGIS Pro and and Google Maps where we could see the attached pictures. This lab required a lot of preparation, but the outcome was well worth it.
